Arts & Culture Event Nov #1: Guided Walking Guided Tour in Bad Soden
Due to the ongoing COVID rules our tour groups must be smaller than usual. We appreciate your understanding.
Do you know that Bad Soden is a spa town and an interesting place to explore? In its heyday, in the 18th and 19th centuries, Russian doctors used to send famous patients to Soden to take the waters. Nobility strolled through the spa facilities; famous musicians composed here and writers such as Tolstoy described the atmosphere in his novel ‘Anna Karenina’. Bad Soden has more than 30 springs – ten of which are recognised for medicinal purposes. It has old parks with rare trees, restored 19th century villas along the main road and timbered framed cottages in the alt stadt and health centres such as the Medico Palais. Last, but not least, it has the Hundertwasserhaus that has to be seen to be believed. Theresa, the guide, will lead you through the past to the present day of Bad Soden.
* It starts at 10:00 am and we cannot wait for you if you are late. Please make sure to arrive at the meeting point at least 15 min. early.
Where: Place (meeting point): at the fountain in the car park at H+ hotel, Könenigsteiner strasse 88,65812 Bad Soden am Taunus

When: Friday Nov 6, 9:00 am
Where: Offenbach, details will be provided to registrants
We will bicycle a scenic, mostly traffic-free route to the Offenbach City Market, pick up local maps, visit some the little hidden shops in the area for Foodies, and gift freaks. One or two short uphills that can be pushed…we will have time. Bring secure bike locks! Masks and Distancing in shops. The meeting place yet to be determined, but probably near the Frankfurt Sud station in Sachsenhausen.
Lunch will be at one of the restaurants there (outside if it's still nice), then we will cycle back via a famous local farm shop that supplies much of the area with Frankfurt Green Sauce supplies and arrive back around 4 pm.
For those who don't want to bike or need to get back early, Offenbach can also be reached by public transit from Frankfurt. Take the S8, or take the RE50 towards Fulda or the RE54 towards Bamberg from Frankfurt Central Station or Frankfurt Sud. Get off at Offenbach Zentrum/Marktplatz Hauptbahnhof. Street Parking is possible….but challenging and not recommended.
